This site exists because wildlife encounters happen constantly, in forests and campsites and backcountry trails all over the world, and most of them go undocumented. The ones that do get captured on trail cameras tend to reveal something that guidebooks and ranger briefings don’t always prepare you for: the animals were already there. They knew about you before you knew about them.
We cover the science behind that. The behavior, the statistics, the documented encounters, and what they actually mean for anyone spending time outdoors.
